  3. Add the carrots and peppers and cook for 5 minutes (until the carrots start to soften a bit).

  5. Add the chilli, garlic and stock powder and mix well so all the vegetables get some flavour.
  6. Pour the two cans of crushed tomatoes into the pot, and fill the cans with water, which also gets added to the pot.
  7. Add the basil and thyme and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the pot with the lid and reduce the heat to let it simmer.

  9. Season with salt and pepper.
